What To Expect

Consultation

On your first visit to our office, you’ll be asked to fill out a health history form. The doctor will then meet with you to discuss your health history, and explain the chiropractic approach that will be used to restore and maintain your health.

Examination

During your examination, you will be given a series of tests that include a thorough orthopedic, neurological, and chiropractic examination. The orthopedic tests are designed to test your joints and attempt to reproduce any pain symptoms you may have. The neurological tests will determine if there are any damages done to your nerves. The chiropractic tests willare done to know if chiropractic care will be beneficial to you.

The computerized thermography scanner is a heat sensing device that monitors the nervous system. Two preliminary readings are taken to determine your subluxation patterns. For subsequent spinal checks after the first adjustment, the readings will help determine whether your spine is getting better or worse. Future adjustments will only be made when the original pattern returns, and never according to symptoms. Research has shown that often slight changes to your spine may reduce your symptoms markedly. But, if you don’t receive a complete correction, your level of health will not permanently return to normal.

X-Rays

We take a complete series of cervical, or neck x-rays on all our patients. These x-rays give us a visual indication on how far your atlas is misaligned. The doctor makes precise measurements on the x-ray film which will allow him to determine your atlas misalignment within ½ millimeter.

For some patients with lumbar, or lower back pain, x-rays are taken in order to determine the amount of damage that is created by a longstanding subluxation.

Reports of Findings

During your visit, the Doctor will show you the x-rays and give you a thorough explanation on the findings. After the Doctor has studied your health history and x-rays, he will meet with you again to explain the results of the examination and give you the recommended course of Chiropractic care. A precise heat differential reading is taken and a leg balance test will be done prior to the correction of the subluxation.
